Homework

We are delighted to provide details of the homework expectations for each year group this year. We have considered all feedback and made some subtle changes. Homework is always a hot topic with a wide range of parental views.

We have now introduced 'Accelerated Reader' for all children in Key Stage 2 and 'free' readers in year 2. This will enable both us and you to better support and keep track of children's reading and progress.

In year 5 and 6, we are introducing a daily journal to support well-being and mindfulness.

All children in key stage two will have a homework diary to support personal organisation. Year 7 and 8 pupils tell us when they return it is an area in which they felt they had had more experience.

Finally, all families will receive an 'an activity passport' based on the DfE publication which encourages and supports families in providing meaningful experiences for children outside school.
